For Australian product makers — at any stage

Plastic products, made properly here in Australia since 1986.

Our 5-minute Production Readiness Check tells you exactly where you are on the path — and the 5 things you should be thinking about right now. Plus a personalised playbook, emailed to you within one business day.

  • A personalised playbook for your stage of production
  • The 5 things experienced manufacturers watch for at your stage

Whether you're sketching your first product or vetting a new supplier, the check works for any stage.

How it works — three free steps before any commitment.

Talk to someone who actually moulds plastic — not a salesperson. We listen first, advise second. If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you.

  4. 04

    Design the path together

DFM review, tool spec, materials, volumes, lead time. You get a transparent quote in writing — no "we'll quote on receipt of drawings" runaround.

  5. 05

    We make your parts

Brisbane-made, on Australian power, with a dedicated account manager as your single point of contact. We mould relationships first — the plastics part comes naturally.

Frequently asked

What volumes do you take on?

Both ends. Our injection machines run from 120 tonnes up to 650 tonnes of clamping force, with parts up to about 4kg of shot — so we cover prototype runs through long-running 24/7 production programmes.

Tell us about your part and the volumes you're planning, and we'll tell you straight whether we're the right floor for it.

Do you make your tools in-house?

Yes. Ramjet Tooling designs, builds, modifies, and repairs tools on-site at Wacol.

That means design-for-manufacture review with the people who'll actually cut the steel — and when something needs to change mid-program, the tool doesn't have to fly back from overseas to fix it.

Can you fix or modify a tool that was made somewhere else?

Often, yes. Tool rescue and modification is one of our regular service lines — including bringing tools back from offshore.

Send us the tool (or the drawings) and we'll work out whether it's a quick modification, a refurbishment, or a fuller rescue, and quote accordingly.

What's your position on the environment, regrind, and recycled plastics?

Honest answer: we work with regrind and recycled materials wherever the part spec and end-use allow it. Where virgin material is required — food contact, regulated grades, structural integrity — we don't substitute, and we'll say so up front.

Beyond materials: our floor runs on 100kW+ of solar power and on-site battery storage, supporting 24/7 production. Half our injection machines have inverter control, saving up to 70% on power. We harvest and recycle water on-site, and we've cut our waste footprint by 50% over the past three years.

We're not going to pretend plastic parts are environmentally perfect — they're plastic. What we will do is keep finding ways to make them with the smallest footprint we can, and tell you honestly what's possible for your specific part.

What's actually different about making in Australia versus going offshore?

Three things that show up over the life of a programme: communication (same time zone, same language, no 12-hour-delay email loops), lead times (no four-to-six week shipping window when you need parts faster), and quality oversight (you can walk our floor, your QA can attend trials, modifications happen in days not months).

We don't claim to be cheaper than offshore on a unit-cost line. What we'll tell you is that total cost over the life of a program is often comparable when you count delays, freight, IP risk, tool modifications, and the cost of a supplier you can't reach. And if you ever need a tool rescue mid-program, having your moulder in your time zone is the difference between a fortnight's pause and a six-month one.
