Replacing inconsistent plywood walkways with injection-moulded plastic — safer parts, faster client assembly

An Australian manufacturer of access systems for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings was hitting a problem with their plywood flooring and walkway components. The quality was inconsistent enough to be a real safety concern, and wood brought its own logistical complexity — moisture, warping, batch variability. They needed the material itself rethought, not just better suppliers.
What we built
We designed injection-moulded plastic replacements that addressed both the safety and efficiency concerns at once, while staying competitive on price. The assembly mechanism was redesigned with the client's production line in mind — not bolted on, designed in — so each unit went together faster on their floor.
The result
The plastic components delivered consistent performance run-to-run, eliminating the safety risk. Material costs came down, the custom assembly mechanism cut client build time, and the relationship has continued well beyond the initial project.
