Competing with overseas plastic moulding production companies is pointless when you compare the cost of labour. Understanding this Ramjet has invested heavily in robotic automation. This allows labour costs assigned to mundane work practices and process to be redirected into Quality Assurance programs. Whilst we cannot compete on cheap and nasty products from OS we are competitive on any work that requires some level of Quality Assurance, offering cost effective solutions.

We have a comprehensive in-house product range including everything from housewares to industrial items. This product range demonstrates creative concept design and quality moulds as well as manufacturing excellence. They are simple stylish and practical.
Some of the proprietary plastic products manufactured by Ramjet include the ultimate tap washer, 20 litre buckets & survey tags.
The product range manufactured by Ramjet usually fill a void in the market for which they are designed. We recognise good ideas and set out to design, process and manufacture the products to meet these needs.

Our History
Ramjet commenced moulding operations in 1987 to satisfy the need for a Brisbane-based plastic moulder capable of producing high quality consistent components and injection moulded products. While the initial components manufactured were for internal use, it quickly became apparent that there was a strong demand for similar services among other manufacturers in the region.
With manufacturing process and outstanding customer satisfaction as the cornerstones of the organisation it quickly grew into a significant custom moulder with an enviable reputation in plastic injection moulding. Considerable investment has been made since 1987 in the areas of moulding technology, post-mould finishing and packaging which together allow us to meet almost any customer demand placed on our company.

Ramjet plastics is proud to announce the installation of a new, larger 650 tonne inverter controlled 2 platen moulding machine to its already upgraded fleet of machines.
Ramjet Plastics now has…
Injectable Moulding machines from 120 tonne clamp to 650 tonne clamp.
5 moulding machines of our 10 machines (50%), boasting inverter control systems that save up to 70% of power usage.
Over 100KW of solar power and batteries supporting our 24 hour a day capacity.
Water harvesting and recycling to leave a better planet for our children.
A 50% reduction in our waste footprint over the last 3 years.
4 x 6 axis robots saving our dedicated staff from the mundane repetitious jobs associated with RSI injuries.
Personnel that have a combined industry experience of over 150 years.
What this means for THE Injection Moulding PROCESS
Our new 650 tonne Constant Merr injection moulding machine was installed in our modern Wacol factory in early November and has been coupled with a 6-axis robot to do the heavy lifting of parts up to 16 kilograms.
This smart robot can not only talk to the moulding machine but can crop the part sprue and monitor quality of the parts during production.
A modern 2 platen machine differs from a traditional moulding machine in that:
it doesn’t use a toggle system to create an overlocking force to create clamp tonnage.
it is physically about 2 to 3 meters shorter than a comparative toggle machine and creates its clamping force by grabbing onto its tie bar system and creating clamp tonnage by hydraulic rams.
less wearing parts and a smaller footprint but still producing cost effective quality moulds.

The 650-tonne size expands Ramjet’s range of product to almost 4 kilograms of shot in materials ranging from LLDPE to exotic long fibre filled Nylons for the mining industry. We are experts in the moulding of all styles of materials in all types of applications.
